Frequently asked questions

How much does LUMA health insurance cost in Thailand?

In our rate tables, the cheapest LUMA plan costs about 38,400 THB per year at age 30 and 147,600 THB at age 60, inpatient cover only. Premiums rise with age, annual limit and options such as outpatient cover. Prices are indicative; the final premium depends on underwriting.

Which LUMA plans meet the O-A retirement visa requirement?

The O-A visa requires cover of at least 3,000,000 THB (USD 100,000). 5 LUMA plans have an annual limit at or above that level: Hi5 Plan 1, Hi5 Plan 2, Prime Plan 1, Prime Plan 2, Prime Plan 3. The certificate itself must be issued by the insurer.

Does LUMA cover outpatient (OPD) care?

Yes, outpatient cover is available as an option on 5 of 5 plans. Without it, the plan pays for hospital admissions (IPD) only, which lowers the premium.

Up to what age can I buy LUMA health insurance?

Our LUMA rate tables go from age 0 to 70. Entry and renewal age limits differ by plan and are set in the policy wording; check them before you buy, especially after 60.
